Which Kamala and Which Tim will we get?
This race is shaping up to be a dead-even tie -- who will error out and lose the game first?
Op-Ed on Harris-Walz in August.
I do not think or believe center-right to conservative people have a problem with this Tim Walz. The Supportive Coach. The TV-Dad come to life persona. The Geeze-Louise MW "vibe". The Citizen -Soldier turned elected congressman. The 90s-00s-10s LGB culture.
Sadly; it is the gender issue which makes people double take and walk away from the whole situation.
I agree with fellow taxpayer and veteran about Tampons in the boys room is more of a waste of money and performative than actually constructive.
The "trans-situation" has been soundly defeated in the court of public opinion. Most people (ballpark 60-80 percent) are fine to leave people be. Except for two points: 1. when it comes to children. 2. leave women/girl's spaces alone. If democrats would respect this view and occasionally honor it -- this race would be over.
At the end of the day I have more substance from the Trump Campaign to lean on or tear apart -- than I do from the Harris camp for policy.
The Harris camp has a VERY STRONG opportunity to really WOW parents out here in the real world for how she would shape and change the US to be better for our kiddos coming up.
I agree with Joe Poor (a practical democrat-progressive) about the no tax on tips being terrible performative policy which fundamentally will not help workers get into housing they want to own.
I think the no tax on Social Security is brilliant and is a no-brainer for people long since retired.
But what else? Those last two are going to do fuck all for my two kiddos when they enter adulthood. I bet other parents feel the same.
Many millions of people fell for the "vibe" horseshit years ago and it ended up being a mixed bag with a Fucking hole in it (Obamacare).
Democrats need to keep Trump out of their mouth when they talk about the future. IF you really do have a movement -- SHUT UP about Trump. Spending one second on the "past and/or trump" really undermines their focus shift to the future and personal freedom and not going back. However -- The angle the dems are taking is rife with pitfalls which can quickly alienate people. One fucked up and off beat Pride or Pro-Palestinian Rally will wreck all the good vibes in the world when it reminds people Harris is an empty Barbie outfit on the set of a fictional political stage.
The democrats are up to bat the rest of August -- will they have a few hits or just a time-shifting bunt to keep the game alive for extra innings?
